Hurricane Bells Releases the Video for Monsters

Twilight Examiner, Amanda Bell, reported this morning that Hurricane Bells has released their video for Monsters featured on the Twilight Saga: New Moon soundtrack.  When I read that, I got all excited thinking was about to see Edward Cullen strutting through the school parking lot toward me.  Alas, I read on and discovered that the video used zero New Moon clips in the video.  However, it’s good for a laugh.  Consider this a call of mercy for grocery carts everywhere…you’ll see why ;) You can read the whole story HERE.

LOLOL See? It’s funny. I’m still sad they didn’t somehow fit Edward Cullen strutting towards us through the parking lot.  I mean, they WERE in a parking lot, they could have found a way! :(

UPDATE:

Thanks, miss TwiNightingale, for that report!  I just heard from Steve’s promotor, who had this additional bit of information about the tour schedule:

Hurricane Bells is the new project from Steve Schiltz, singer and guitarist of Longwave. He wrote, played, recorded, and mixed the entirety of Tonight Is The Ghost – a moody, gorgeous mix of somber undercurrents and chiming guitars bathed in echo and reverb – himself using his MacBook and an Mbox. Originally planning on self-releasing the album, Schiltz’s then-completely unknown project quickly became part of the whirlwind Twilight pop culture phenomenon when “Monsters” was chosen for the The Twilight Saga: New Moon soundtrack last fall.

Steve is an amazing artist- you can read my full interview with him HERE!!

I chatted with Steve Schiltz of Hurricane Bells, who had lots to say regarding his song Monsters in the New Moon soundtrack and it’s place in the movie. Here’s a snippet; read the rest at Twilight Parents Examiner:

They sent me the clip- it’s apparently the first song in the movie,” says Steve, clueless as to the frenzy that becomes a die-hard Twilighter of any age or genre. “At the beginning, when Bella gets a camera for her birthday, she goes to school and takes pictures. The song plays when she’s driving to school, and the first time Edward shows up, it’s playing when he walks toward her.”

I’m scared for the release of the New Moon Soundtrack!!!

Straight up- I’m not a song chick. My repertoire of CD’s stuck in my mini-van still contains Spongebob Squarepants, a Vacation Bible School host of diddies, and a remix of sappy love songs from a friend’s wedding 4 years ago.

This is the back of my mini-van. Srsly.

Yes, friends, I have listened to NOTHING but the Twilight soundtrack and the score (when I’m not in a sing-along mood) since it was released a year ago. My four year old knows the lyrics to “Going All the Way” by heart. My husband has proof on his Blackberry. I’ve talked to Tobi, who wrote “Eyes on Fire,” by gosh.

So I have mixed feelings about what Novel Novice Twilight has to say about the New Moon soundtrack:

While there were many songs I enjoyed on the Twilight soundtrack (most notably “Eyes on Fire” and “Full Moon” ), the New Moon  Soundtrack, much like the visual look of the New Moon movie, leaves the Twilight soundtrack looking like nothing more than some sleazy producer’s misconstrued idea of what a teenager, young adult, Twilight fan MIGHT like. Now, I can already tell you…many won’t like the “indie” tone of the New Moon Soundtrack, but the plethora of talent gathered on this soundtrack is astounding. The songs themselves tell a narrative of reckless abandonment, longing, and the heartbreak of losing your first love……and the soundtrack does so using some of the most innovative artists currently producing music.

new-moon-soundtrack-cover

What does that mean????? I LOVE the Twilight soundtrack! I’m not an indie chick- I’m a full-fledged Total Eclipse of the Heart, Chicago loving sappy girl.

I know it’s splashed all over the place- you can find the songs HERE and the rest of NNT’s review HERE. But I’m scared of change. I don’t want to learn new songs. That said, I can’t wait until Friday! Squee!!!

Oh, btw, you can buy advance tickets to New Moon and receive a free, exclusive soundtrack song remix on iTunes!
