Interview talks with Noot Seear

After half a life as a model, 25-year-old Noot Seear is now a vampire. And not just any vampire: a Twilight vampire, the true proof of immortality, film and otherwise. In the forthcoming New Moon, the second installment in the rabidly popular teen series, Seear plays Heidi, a crazy-hot bloodsucker who lures tourists to her coven. When we sat down with her, the British Columbia native admitted she’s more grunge than Goth. She spilled a few details about her show-stopping scene in the film. She told us the amusing story behind her name. And she assured us she’s not going to let a childhood full of embarrassing Halloween costumes get in her way.

DARRELL HARTMAN: So, what did you have to do to look the part?

NOOT SEEAR: I didn’t tan for two months. It was awful, and totally unnecessary because they painted me white anyway. And I had these crazy contacts that I couldn’t see through. It was like skiing in a total snowstorm. I could see about two feet in front of me.

DH: What about the wardrobe?

NS: It was this red, flowy dress with high gloves and big old heels.

DH: A dress? It’s a miniskirt in the book.

NS: I know! I didn’t get to show much leg.

DH: Heidi’s scene, in the book at least, is short but awesome. Tell me about filming it.

NS: The sets were breathtaking. Huge, like palace-sized. I think the scariest part for me, out of the whole day, was that they had given me lines to practice, and when I showed up they gave me completely different lines. I freaked out. Dan [Cudmore] was like, “Calm down, it’s okay.” They’re so protective over the script. But it was really cool because the day I shot everyone was there: Dakota, Rob, Kristen. I got to meet everyone and they were so nice to me. I was scared they were going to not be nice.

Youngblood director has sights set on RPattz

Word is that Rob Liefield would like Robert Pattinson to star in the upcoming comic-book inspired flick, Youngblood. The plot behind the movie:

Story-wise, the veteran creator said the big-screen adaptation of “Youngblood” would focus on team members Shaft and Chapel, the bow-wielding marksman and gun-toting former soldier who lead the team.

“They don’t like each other,” said Liefeld. “Shaft is the new kid on the block in the movie, and he and Chapel have to put aside their differences to save the Youngblood program.”

However, one character that won’t be appearing in the film is Badrock, the teenage boy with a body made of stone. Liefeld told MTV the decision to leave out Badrock was his choice, adding that the character “doesn’t fit in first film.”

“There are characters that have micro-cameras installed on their bows, their arrows, their semiautomatic rifles, their bo staffs,” Liefeld explained of the ambitious, unique visuals he hopes the adaptation will bring to the screen. “You’re getting footage from a thousand angles, from the casing on their weapons to their armor.”

“When Youngblood goes live, the whole word watches,” he added.

Director Brett Ratner told MTV that his vision for the Youngblood character is none other than RPattz:

“Definitely [Robert Pattinson] from ‘Twilight,’ ” Ratner told MTV News when asked if he had any actors in mind for his upcoming film based on a comic book series about a government-sanctioned team of superheroes. “He just feels like he belongs in that world.”

“I don’t only see him as a vampire,” explained Ratner. “He’s a really good actor.”

Based on writer/artist Rob Liefeld’s Image Comics series, one of the most popular titles of the 1990s comics boom, “Youngblood” follows a group of superheroes who live in the public eye and deal with superhero-level doses of drama when they’re not battling with bad guys. The team is led by a former FBI agent and expert marksman who goes by the codename “Shaft,” and that seems the most likely role for Pattinson in Ratner’s adaptation.

“[Pattinson] could do anything,” said Ratner. “He just has that look. … I picture him on Youngblood, for sure.”

15 things about RPattz

Gah- how did I miss this yesterday?? Hollywood.com has some great pieces up right now; I’ve been mesmerized reading it all… first up, 15 things the author learned about the sexy RPattz, considering she didn’t get a chance to meet him… I gather that he has the pull off-screen as much, if not more so than on-screen. Read the rest here:

2. Like the rest of the cast, Pattinson’s canvas director’s chair had his character’s name (that would be “Edward Cullen”) embroidered on the backrest. On Robert’s chair, however, “Edward Cullen” was covered with yellow tape, on which “ROBERT” was written in bold black marker. Seems our fantasy boy likes to keep things “real.”

3. I watched Kristen Stewart, Ashley Greene and Robert film a scene in the Volturri lair. During this dramatic play-by-play, Robert wears an ankle-length maroon cloak very bathrobe in its design. It appeared to be velvet, but I couldn’t get close enough to touch him. It. I mean it.

4. Edward’s presence in the novel as a disembodied voice in Bella’s head clearly wouldn’t do for fans hungry for some larger-than-life RPattz on the big screen. The filmmakers recognized that a largely Pattinson-less New Moon would do little to satisfy fans; therefore, Edward appears to Bella in vision form. Sexy, sexy vision form.

While Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning have been flitting around at hair salons, photo shoots and voice recording work, the final of the Runaway four has been confirmed.

Reports MTV:

“I’m playing Lita Ford,” Alessandra Torresani said of the heavy-metal icon behind such hits as “Kiss Me Deadly” and “Close My Eyes Forever.” “She’s the most incredible woman. I’m getting to meet her very soon, so that’ll be amazing. I’ll get to hear all her old stories.

Alessandra Torresani Paley Fest 09a by jfer21.

“There’s some kick-ass girls in the movie, right? It’s going to be great,” laughed Torresani, who we caught up with at Hollywood Life’s Young Hollywood Awards. “We’ve got some good girls in there.”

To land the role with director Floria Sigismondi, Torresani said she researched some clips of Ford online. “I also looked at this little documentary about [the Runaways], and then went from there,” she explained. “We start [filming] next week. Everything’s just coming together right now.”
