Final box office numbers for New Moon are in- #3 of all-time!

ACTUALS ARE IN: The final domestic box office numbers for this past weekend show that The Twilight Saga: New Moon took in $142.8M. This is the official tally which, including the actual number for Sunday, has been revised upward by $2.1M from the previously announced $140.7M. This also results in an increase in the per theater average from $34,965 to $35,497.

The film stands in third place for all-time opening weekends, behind The Dark Knight ($158.4M) and Spider-Man 3 ($151.1M) and ahead of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest ($135.6M). The film also hauled in $118.1M from 25 foreign countries for a worldwide total $260.9M.

In addition to becoming the new champ in midnight box office and single-day totals on Friday, New Moon shattered several other records as well. It was the #1 biggest non-summer opening weekend of all time and the biggest ever box office opening for an independent film (and widest indie release in history). New Moon also broke the record for fastest to reach $100M, beating The Dark Knight and Spider-Man 3, and had the highest opening ever for a “vampire” genre film (passing Twilight). New Moon passes Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’s $109M for the top opening weekend of 2009. It’s per theater average of $35,497 was the fourth best ever. International markets are also reporting record box office receipts. Nikki Finke has a running list at Deadline Hollywood from Argentina to the UK.

ROBsessed takes the time to clear up any misconceptions over some raging manips out there… Robsten or not, these are just fakers:

Don’t have a heart attack!!!! In case you haven’t already seen these they are really good manips have been floating around and I think people just need to be aware that they are MANIPS!!

They are REALLY, REALLY good ones IMO. In fact so good that a certain gossip columnist who we love to hate actually thought the second one was real and tweeted about it LOL. But they are not real and just in case you have ANY doubt here’s the proof!
