According to a Tweet sent out by David Slade today Eclipse is starting to shape up, but he’s adding more Edward.  Mmmmm…doesn’t that sound nice?

Well, Well, the holidays have come and gone and I must say there is always sadness and relief that come with their passing.  With the approach of the New Year, however, we are coming ever closer to the premier of Eclipse.  With just a week over 6 months to wait we all hope to soon see a teaser trailer and the beginnings of movie stills that will wet our appetites for the coming film.

In anticipation of these bits and pieces headed our way, Reelz Channel has done a short profile video on David Slade. 

There are many reasons I love Twitter.  This is an example of one of those reasons.  David Slade has graced us with some Eclipse updates.  Sometimes he’s insanely cryptic in his updates, other times, he just flat out tells you.  The past few have been fun, he’s obviously working hard on post-production.

Gah!  Love the part about Edward, his strong presence, the love story and the rivalry.  It’s just going to be fantastic, I can feel it!

The poor Eclipse crew!  Check out this picture that David Slade sent via Twitter today of their night shoot!   Whether or not the rain is manufactured, it looks wet and cold to be shooting in!

David Slade just twittered this- he ROCKS as a director… hmm.. black bear… or Quileute….

It’s always interesting when franchise movies change directors. Everyone has something new to bring to the project. So far from what we can tell as the casual observer, David Slade seems to be plowing ahead with efficiency while maintaining a sense of humor.

In the last couple of days, sets in very different locations have gone up in the afternoon, have had shooting done at night, and by mid morning all traces are gone. Quite impressive. At the same time, after undergoing what is obviously a long night of shooting, David had tweeted to fans about a joke picture he took with the prop guys.

Mandy, talks about seeing this uber organization first hand, where a scene under a bridge involving Bryce Dallas Howard and Xavier Samuel was done in a heartbeat, while still having attention to detail.

“I was not at all surprised to see NOTHING left…

I know lot’s of people don’t have sets in their own backyard but shooting a scene takes tons of time, money, people and equipment…

I am so impressed so far with how “on the ball” David Slade is.

I remember when I met him outside Blue Water Cafe for the Cast Party at the end of New Moon. He stopped to chat with me and to clear the air about the things he had previously said about Twilight Saga…. he was cordial and really quite sweet… and short… but anyways…. so far this director has been in and out of multiple sets using perfect locations and just hammering it out quick and easy…

So yes, when I saw nothing at under the bridge today I was not shocked… David Slade and his crew are good – really good!”

E! Online reports that they got their grubby hands on a casting notice for Eclipse, directed by David Slade. The notice calls for three new cast members, amont them:

Riley- “…a handsome, blond, clean-cut college boy who falls victim to Victoria,” the notice reads. He’s in his early to mid 20s and “plays an integral role in Victoria’s attempt to murder Bella Swan.”

Two new members of the Quileute tribe are also being requested. Like New Moon, they are looking for Native American or First Nations actors to fill the roles.

Seth Clearwater- “…a tall, gangly-limbed boy with a huge, happy grin,” the notice reads. “Seth idolizes Jacob.”

Leah Clearwater- Seth’s big sister is 19-year-old Leah Clearwater and the only female member of La Push: “She is tall and slender with beautiful skin and short cropped black hair. She would be considered gorgeous if not for the perpetual scowl she carries due to a broken heart and her anger issues.”

Now that Eclipse is up and running, what about the fourth, Breaking Dawn? As much as everyone in the cast wants it to happen, it still sounds like nothing’s official…yet.

Around the same time Slade came, Peter Facinelli left. We were actually on the same flight to Vegas. Not sure where he was going. I sat across the aisle from him. He was lovely to fans who approached for photos in the terminal and the only other remarkable detail I can give you is that he was givin’er on his iPod, playing some game that required furious tapping and scrolling and shaking. It was distracting and hilarious and adorable, especially when he became extra spastic with the controller.

Also, a sleepy Taylor Lautner in the afternoon.
