It’s true. If you Google the name Daniel Cudmore, all sorts of descriptive words not fit for this article pop up. With muscles bulging through even a thick, tweed jacket, he is, in fact, difficult to ignore.

And yes, Daniel’s immense size have played a large (pun intended) part in the movie parts that he’s secured in his short, yet glamorous career. For the record, the enthusiastic Canadian actor reveals his true stats– 6’7”, 240 pounds. Thus began our interview. Read the rest of my interview over at Twilight Parents Examiner….

He told us how well he got along with all the cast, and that he really got friend with Daniel Cudmore, “they compensate each other” in a sort of way he says. I also spoke a little french with him, he reallyhas a good accent, as he said that he lived in Paris for a while some time ago.  He told us as well that his favourite soccer team in Italy is Lazio ’cause Gascoigne played in it, and that when he played rugby, ’cause yes he also played Rugby(!), he came to play a match in Rimini on the east coast of Italy.

Such was Laura’s dilemma at the Darling Buds concert where Jamie Campbell Bower was writhing on stage while British bud Charlie Bewley watched from the sidelines.

Laura, of His Crooked Smile, had a close encounter with both Jamie (Caius) and Charlie (Demetri). Here’s a snippet-check out Jamie’s jam session over at Radar Online!

After a couple of songs, he (Jamie) asked if anyone had something he could drink since his throat was really dry, so I handed him my water bottle (I was standing so close and no one else was offering). He said something to the effect of “thank you – sorry, that’s really gross of me isn’t it?” to which I joked “are you suggesting I’m gross?!” and he said “nono, you’re gorgeous for lending me your drink” (random use of the word “gorgeous” much, anyone?!) as he handed it back, but I said “I can’t take it now – everyone here will think I’m weird for wanting it back” and he replied “nono, I don’t think you’re weird – please, it’s yours” by which time the drummer, Dan was like “I’ll have it!” – it was all very amusing!

After the show, we waited for him to pack up and say hello to some industry types – that’s when we first spotted Charlie Bewley (“Demetri” in New Moon – bad vampire double bonus!) coming up to the stage to congratulate his friend on the great gig. Charlie saw me spot him and looked like he was waiting for me to do something, but I just smiled casually – I wanted to say hi to Jamie first: I’d see about Charlie later!

6) Which member of the Volturi do you think the audience will find the most frightening?

Dakota. Jane. Both, in fact, are a little unnerving.

7) Actors generally pull from life experiences to build their characters. Since you are playing a fictitious super-natural being, did you find that difficult to do or is it more fun to build a character off imagination?

I love bringing a character to life. I revel every time I get an obscure, abstract character to play because it’s not immediately accessible to you. After a while, I find that a character is organically meshed together using many different facets of your make-up and this collage plays out honestly as the character in question.

Demetri is different though. I am so close to Demetri in character and there is no one in the saga who is better suited to me than him, and vice-versa. I wish they would spin-off his character in a “Joey” sense, so I could bring this guy and his exceptional skills set and character to the world.

Clearly, I have a lot of love for Demetri.

I seriously hope we will get to see just how insanely dangerous he is. His charm will be on show in New Moon but I would love to demonstrate the other side of his being; his tracking powers. Needless to say, I spent a lot of time attempting to seduce Melissa Rosenberg in between takes.
