Setting your New Moon expectations

When I saw Twilight, I was a total Saga virgin – hadn’t read the books, knew nothing about it, and sort of didn’t get it when I saw it.  It was ok, a decent love story, but you know I was thinking “what the heck are they lying around in the grass for?  And what’s with their legs – surely they couldn’t have been comfortable.”  A week later I’d read Twilight and New Moon, which started my craving for the movie, hunting everywhere I could for a bootleg copy.

But now, being the OCD Twilight Mom that I am, I had high expectations for New Moon even before they started filming.  Perhaps you can relate to comments I made such as. . .

  • KStew had BETTER portray Bella’s depression as deeply as Stephenie wrote it!
  • And she has to jump off that cliff!
  • I want to see Edward but I don’t want him overpowering the movie bc that’s NOT what happened in the book!
  • If Bella and Jacob actually kiss in the kitchen I will just die bc I want that saved for Eclipse!

I could go on. . .but I won’t.   Mainly because Letters to Twilight has pulled me out of my rant and urges me to set realistic expectations in this poignant letter.  I hope it works for you too!  ENJOY!
